Alexandra Maria Lara, a Romanian and German actress who works in TV and film is best known for films such as Rush and Downfall Youth Without Youth Control. As the sole child of Romanian actress Valentin Platareanu, Alexandra started her professional career in showbiz at a young age. She played lead roles in TV dramas as young as 16 years old. The Oscar-nominated film Downfall, her role as Adolf Hitler's Secretary Traudljunge was also a critically-acclaimed one. Other Oscar nominated film starring the diva include The Reader and Der Baader Meinhof Komplex. In the past, Alexandra has been involved in a variety of noteworthy national and international projects. They include British biographical film Control as well as The Dust of Time as along with the French history mini-series Napoleon. In addition, she was a member of the jury at the Cannes Film Festival and the Transylvania International Film Festival.
